Clarification

I think I have confused some people, not surprising since I am confused about 95% of the time! So far my stay in Japan has been made up of different parts so I wanted to clarify.

First, my friend Bridget and I hit up Tokyo for a week of vacation. I am slowly catching up on all of the posts! It was an amazing week and I am really fortunate that she came with me and helped make the transition to Japan much easier. When Bridget left on Saturday I headed off to the second part of my Japan journey.

For work I am splitting my time between Iwakuni and Sasebo. Iwakuni is my homebase for my job and it is also the home of marines working at the Marine Corps Air Station. I am living in a BOQ (bachelor office quarters) apartment.

I am also living in Sasebo. Sasebo is a Naval base, in Sasebo, Japan, on the island of Kyūshū. It provides facilities for the logistic support of forward-deployed units and visiting operating forces of the United States Pacific Fleet. When I go to Sasebo, about every other week for a week or so, I stay in Naval lodging which is a little apartment. It is pretty nice.

I am getting slowly used to living in Japan and also living on bases, except for a birthday sleepover in 2nd grade, I have never been on base before! More to come on that.............
