Bird's Eye View of Split.

On our last day in Split we planned to go to Joe's Beach but when we got to the boat it was there but no one else so we took the opportunity go up the bell tower in Split. There were beautiful views and Asian tourists who had to stop on all of the steps to take pictures but it was worth it. 

Plan That Goes Awry Ends At Zen

On our last full day in Split we planned on going to Joe's Beach again. When we got there the boat was just sitting there and there was no sign up so we went to the Bell Tower. When we got back there were people there and they said that the boat was no longer running because it was October 1st, the season ends September 30th and they are clearly strict on that.  So we went back to the hotel and asked her where to go. She told us so we walked down to the center and got a cab.  He dropped us off at the wrong beach but we did not realize that until we were walking around looking for Zen beach.  Where he dropped us off wasn't really a beach but just some cement that people would put towels down on and just jump into the water.  So we stopped and had a beer and looked out at the boats and then walked up until we found a cab.  We then got dropped off at the right beach but had to look for the Zen beach club. It was a little fancy but nice because they had chairs you could rent and it was not crowded.  It had a little bit of a night club feel.

This was our view while we drank a beer when we were lost.

Last Stop on the Boat Tour - Hvar

Our last stop on the boat tour was the Island of Hvar.  There was a fortress that we walked up to and while it was a long walk it was worth it for the awesome views.

Split Boat Tour Part II

After Kmoiza we then went to Stiniva Bay.  It is a small area to go swimming but in the summer they said it is filled with boats so there is a rope up for the boats to not past. We were supposed to go swimming here but our boat opted to go on.

We then went to the Green Cave on Ravnik Island.There is a hole on the top where the light shines through and spreads the sparkling green lights.

Then we headed to Buikovac Island to go swimming. Between all of the people sitting on the boats and swimming there were about 100 people but they said that during the season there are usually over 1000 people. It was pretty shallow so Chris walked all the way out and then walked around these little islands.

Split Boat Tour Part I

On our second day in Split we did a boat tour where we went to five islands.  The owner of our hotel knows the people who run the boat tour so the guy picked us up at the hotel.  We didn't realize that the start of the boat tour was right down at the water where we took the boat to Joe's Beach. Because of the way split is and how roads are closed for cars down in the center we had to go up and around to get there. It would have been quicker to walk. While on the boat tour we did over 100 miles.

The first stop on our tour was the Blue Cave. The opening of the cave is really small; we had to switch boats to go into and had to get low while going in.

Then we went to Komiza, it an a fisherman's village on the island of Vis. It is a very small island but we had about an hour to walk around the island.

They had a miniature golf that was built into the sidewalk.
